First Responders Stress Wearable Research Study

First Responders routinely encounter challenging situations in their work. This exposure has the potential to impact them in many ways, including their interactions with their children.

The study will evaluate:

1) the effectiveness of a fitness activity watch in tracking real-time stress levels

2) how the use of brief in-the-moment activities may impact this stress

Participants will wear the wrist device for 32 days. They will complete an online survey and virtual meeting with study staff immediately before and after the 32-day period.

2) Will participants be compensated?

Yes, individuals may be compensated up to $200 in gift cards. Participants can choose from over 100 digital gift card options.

3) What if I enroll in the study but later decide I no longer want to participate?

Participation in the study is completely voluntary. You may choose to discontinue your involvement at any time.

4) What if I’m interested but unable to start right away?

Because we only have 100 spots available, it is best to check your eligibility now and then discuss any scheduling limitations with study staff. We understand how busy First Responders can be and will accommodate your schedule to the best of our ability.

5) How will my information be shared?

Your information will only be shared with a select number of study staff who have been approved by ASU’s Institutional Review Board. All identifying information will be removed prior to publication or being shared with other investigators.
